The U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary's Weekend Navigator course is a brand new comprehensive course to prepare the boater with the knowledge needed to safely pilot a boat.

This course has many similarities to our past Basic and Advanced Coastal Navigation courses which are no longer available. Both courses teach the fundamentals of navigation using charts and traditional piloting techniques. The Weekend Navigator does focus more on the use of electronics in navigation; which is today’s boating reality!
Course materials include: Textbook, Study Guides and Charts.
Students should purchase navigation tools (which will be described in class). Feel free to bring handheld GPS units should you have one, but it is not necessary for the course.
Individuals who successfully complete the course and exam are awarded certificates.
